Welcome

Launching this site as a home for notes on digital forensics, information security, product strategy, and AI.

announcements

Welcome. This site is a single place for two things I do that don’t fit neatly into a résumé: thinking out loud and shipping reference material.

I’ve spent the last 25 years moving between low-level engineering and the decisions that depend on it — building forensic software, running network and intelligence operations, teaching, and writing. The pattern that keeps reappearing is that complex systems fail less from a lack of cleverness than from a lack of clarity: about what the system does, why it was built that way, and whether it will hold up when someone has to defend it.

That’s the thread I plan to follow here.

What to expect

Posts will tend to fall into a few recurring areas:

  • Digital forensics — evidence handling, tool validation, and the parts of an investigation that quietly decide whether it survives scrutiny.
  • Information security — the operational and governance realities beneath the checkboxes.
  • Technical writing — how to explain deep engineering to attorneys, boards, and buyers without watering it down.
  • AI systems — practical notes from building integrated, full-stack AI that actually ships, rather than strategy decks about it.

White papers and gap analyses will land in the White Papers section, where they’re free to download.

If something here is useful to you, or if you’re wrestling with a problem in one of these areas, get in touch.
